Mr. Golchin completed his secondary education at Wesley College Dublin and studied medicine at Trinity College Dublin, graduating as a doctor in 1991.
He completed his ophthalmology training in UK and Northern Ireland and become a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London in 1998.
Mr. Golchin was successful in attaining sub speciality training in cornea and anterior segment diseases in Sydney eye hospital in Sydney, Australia. He was fortunate to have trained under the supervision of renowned corneal specialists Dr. Lyon Robinson, Dr. Kathleen McClellan, and Dr. Gerard Sutton.
Having completed a year in Sydney he was awarded a certificate of completion of clinical fellowship in the cornea from Sydney eye hospital and a certificate of admittance as a visiting Scholar from Save Sight Institute in Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney, Australia.
Upon completion of his consultancy training, he was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) from The Specialist Training Authority Of the Medical Royal Colleges, UK in 2003.

Mr. Mahmoud completed his basic and high surgical training nationally, internationally and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK in 2010. He was appointed to a consultant post at University Southampton & Lymington hospital NHS Foundation Trust, UK and is now currently a consultant Ophthalmologist at Cork Univeristy Hospital as well the Cork Eye Clinic.

Mr. Mahmoud has special interest in Oculoplastic, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Cataract Surgery and Retinal Diseases.
Mr. Mahmoud has published leading articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He is interested in teaching and lecturing undergraduates and postgraduates in Ireland and the UK.
Dr. Lana Obaid is a dedicated ophthalmologist with expertise in dry eyes. With extensive academic qualifications, including MRCSIophth and EBOD, Dr. Obaid has honed her skills through postgraduate experience across reputable medical institutions. Her commitment to delivering personalised care and her dedication to ongoing professional development make her an invaluable asset to our clinic.
In her role as the Clinic Manager Roya is in charge of the running of this practice.
As this is a busy eye clinic her organisational ability and inter-personal relationship has proved invaluable for the success and expansion of our Eye Clinic in Cork.
Anne graduated in optometry (BSc Hons) from Dublin Institute of Technology in 2005. After 2 years working in Ireland she moved to Australia where she worked for 7 years in a large private eye clinic (Lions Eye Institute, Perth) where she trained as a Clinical Optometrist before progressing to management position. Anne returned to Ireland in 2016 to continue her training as a clinical optometrist at the Institute of Eye Surgery, Waterford, for 4 years.
Anne joined the team at the Cork Eye Clinic in 2020 as a Clinical Optometrist. She completed her Professional Certification in Low Vision through Ulster University in 2021. She was promoted to Assistant Clinic Manager in 2024.
BSc MCOptom
Lisa graduated from her degree in Optometry from Cardiff University in 2007. Subsequently she worked in a variety of clinical settings in the UK, including domiciliary and private independent practice and was involved in the supervision and training of pre-registration optometrists.
Lisa moved to Ireland in 2020 and continued her professional development working in an independent practice with a focus on paediatric eye care.
Lisa joined the team in CEC in May 2023.
Clodagh joined the Cork Eye Clinic in September 2025. She has previously worked with the Diabetic Retina Screen (DRS) within the HSE, where she trained as an Ophthalmic Technician.
As an ophthalmic technician, she assists the running of the clinic by conducting preliminary vision tests, capturing specialized eye tests and scans (like OCT and Visual Fields), administering eye drops, and documenting patient histories.
Laura joined the Cork Eye Clinic team in 2025 with 6 years of previous medical receptionist experience.
Paige joined the Cork Eye Clinic team in 2025 with 2 years of previous medical receptionist experience.
